Governor Signs Health Care Bill to Limit Insurers' Overhead

Governor Brown signed a new health care bill into law that will require insurers to use a higher percentage of consumers’ premiums for actual health care costs.   If insurers fail to meet this target consumers will be eligible for an annual rebate.

Textbook Rebellion: Students Save on Textbooks

A new survey released by the Student PIRGs found that 70% of student respondents reported not purchasing one or more of their assigned textbooks because the cost was too high. Of those students, 78% said they believed that they would do worse in a course without the required materials.
