Medicare Part D Information

CALPIRG and a coalition of labor, senior and community groups are working in the legislature to address shortcomings in the new Medicare prescription drug benefit. Pending state level legislation would protect consumers if plans go belly up, ensure that the state has the ability to punish companies that defraud seniors and protect the most vulnerable seniors from gaps in care. CALPIRG is also supporting federal legislation that would allow the Medicare program to negotiate directly with drug companies to get lower prices for Medicare beneficiaries.
