Improving the gas mileage of our vehicles is the biggest step we can take to reduce our dangerous dependence on oil. We have the technology to make all of our cars, trucks, and SUVs go farther on a gallon of gas. I urge you to cosponsor the Markey-Platts Fuel Economy Reform Act (H.R. 1506) in order to reduce America’s dependence on oil and save consumers money. By 2025 this bill could save consumers billions of dollars at the pump, and cut oil use by more than 3 million barrels a day.
