Douglas
H. Phelps is the chairman of the CALPIRG's Board of Directors. Doug also
serves as executive director of the Fund for Public Interest Research; as chairman
of Board of Directors for Green Corps, a training school for environmental organizing;
and as president of Green Century Capital Management, a socially responsible
business venture started by the state PIRGs. Doug's experience in public interest
work includes 10 years as MASSPIRG's executive director, from 1979-1989. He
also directed public interest and public service placement programs at Harvard
Law School from 1976-1986. He is a graduate of Colorado State University and
Harvard Law School.
