Campus Organizing Director Danny Katz
is based in our San Francisco office. He coordinates the projects and
programs on the eight CALPIRG campus chapters across the University of
California System. Before joining CALPIRG staff in 2005, Danny spent
four years with WISPIRG teaching students the skills to fight hunger
and homelessness, expose the way the textbook industry was artificially
driving up the costs of textbooks and pass a cell phone bill of rights.
In 2004, he worked with the State PIRGs New Voter’s Project,
coordinating our efforts in Oshkosh, La Crosse and Milwaukee, which
successfully registered over 142,000 18-24 year olds to vote. Danny
graduated from the University of Virginia in 2001.
